Hey, I'm Tim

I’m a full-stack software engineer approaching 20 years of experience in the industry. I love learning about new things and interacting with different people on projects. I'm passionate about climate change and sustainability and currently work at Octopus Hydrogen as a Senior Software Engineer. When I'm not programming I'm either playing guitar or drawing.

Climate change and sustainability

I believe climate change is real. I believe that in order for humans and the planet to endure, we must be more sustainable. That includes the way we live, work and communicate. In my view, technology has a big part to play with it.

I'm a member of Digital Humani, where I contribute towards the Reforestation as a Service (RaaS) API product as a volunteer.

I'm also a member of the ClimateAction.tech, Greentech Alliance and Work On Climate Slack communities.

Technologies

Here's a roundup of some of the technologies I work with.

Programming languages

Aren’t programming languages also technology I hear you say? Well, yes, but another way to look at it would be say that programming languages are also used to build technologies. I follow the principles of domain driven design using object oriented languages, such as C# and Java. I’m also comfortable with SQL and front-end languages such as HTML, Javascript and CSS (a good example is this site!).
